Music is an important part of the curriculum here at Ringway. We are a partner of MyHub – the music education hub for the City of Manchester.

We obtained Music Mark School Membership for 2019-20 “in recognition of a commitment to providing high quality music education for all children and young people”.

Our school offers weekly first access opportunities on the recorder to every pupil in Years 3 and 4 with a specialist teacher. Additionally, we have a fabulous school Choir for years 2 to 6 who meet weekly at lunchtime and perform locally. We also offer chance to learn the Ukulele in our free weekly after school club. KS2 children also have the opportunity to take up guitar lessons through Front Row Music.
We engage with MyHub through network meetings,  musical events and working with partner Arts organisations.

If your child would like to extend their music learning outside of school, by playing in a group or learning a new instrument then please follow the links below to Manchester’s Music Centres and the Music Hub. Although there is a small weekly membership fee, MyHub offer bursaries if this is a barrier – the process is straightforward and the centre leaders make an application. Any child can go and try and centre free of charge to see if they like it before signing up.
