Vision Statement for Mathematics at Ringway

At Ringway, our aim is for children to leave as confident, skilled and resilient mathematicians; who understand that mathematics is a fundamental part of everyday life and the world we live in.

We will give children real-life learning experiences and opportunities to ensure that they are money-smart and confident to deal with the challenges the world presents. Mathematics is integral to all aspects of life and with this in mind, we endeavour to ensure that children develop a healthy and enthusiastic attitude, and a deep understanding, that will stay with them for life.

Our children will thrive upon conquering the challenges and puzzles that mathematics will bring and not be afraid to make mistakes.

Enterprise Day

The children at Ringway had a fantastic week preparing for and taking part in Ringway’s Enterprise day!

Once again, the school enjoyed a fabulous day focusing on maths and enterprise – as well as eating lots of tasty treats and getting to go on a huge, inflatable obstacle course! Children developed their money and problem-solving skills and the playground was filled with in-depth mathematical discussion. Here are some examples of the fabulous enterprise ideas that were taking place:

Ice cream parlour

Penalty shoot-out

Inflatable obstacle course

Hot dogs

Face painting
