PSHE/ SMSC
PSHE/ SMSC (Spiritual, Moral. Social and Cultural) has an integral part to play in education for a safe, impartial and just society. Here at Ringway we encourage mutual respect and tolerance for all faiths and beliefs and explore differences, equality and belonging, across the curriculum.
This includes:
-
Democracy
-
The rule of law
-
Individual liberty (including freedom of speech)
-
Mutual respect
-
Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
Here are some examples of how we have started to promote PSHE in our school with the help of the children. PSHE is now a major focus area for us all at Ringway and we have lots of training coming up to support our teaching and learning. We use the Jigsaw scheme of work and work closely with our school nurse to ensure children are equipped for the future.
The core themes for Jigsaw include
Being Me In My World
Celebrating Differences
Dreams and Goals
Healthy Me
Relationships
Changing Me
